Dear (re-)seller of KNOPPIX CDs/DVDs,

Due to a vast increase of requests for commercial as well as
non-commercial links on the Knoppix vendors page
http://www.knopper.net/knoppix-vendors/, and since the new
version 3.4 will be publically released for download soon, we are
restructuring our web pages. The goal is to create a fair and equal
presence for each vendor interested in advertising on knopper.net.

All things considered, this is the deal:

- Each interested knoppix-vendor will be listed with a single entry,
  containing his own logo, a short bubblehelp description and a link to
  the corresponding Knoppix webshop page or order address.

- Price for being listed on the vendors page is based on the number of
  sold CDs, at 50 Euro-cent per sold CD (tax included).

- Included in this price is, apart from the link on a frequently visited
  webpage, (limited) support from KNOPPER.NET to your customers having
  technical questions about Knoppix CDs you send out. However, questions
  about defective burned CDs, or general questions about your products
  and services etc. will only be redirected to your own support email
  address.

- As official vendor, you can enter the amount of sold CDs and print
  your invoices on a quarterly or half-year base from a web form
  directly on the www.knopper.net website. You will receive a login and
  password for the invoice web form once you register for being listed.

- Payment can be done by bank transfer or paypal, at your option.

- From time to time, interested vendors can receive special offers for
  reselling "Knoppix special editions" that have been produced for
  events like LinuxTag in an exceed amount.

Please note that neither an agreement with KNOPPER.NET, nor a link on
the knoppix-vendors page is a requirement in order to sell Knoppix CDs
in general. The GPL allows you to sell Knoppix at any price you like, to
whom you like (trade and export laws may apply), provided that
recipients get the CD under the same GPL license terms and conditions as
you did. But of course being listed as an "official" vendor makes it
easier for potential customers to find their nearest CD shop, and
therefore may increase sales. Plus, we will give (limited) support to
your customers having technical questions about the Knoppix CDs you send
out.

To take advantage of an advertising link on the knoppix-vendors page,
and to take part of the new accounting/invoice scheme, please send the
following information to knoppix-vendors (at) knopper.net:

- The URL of your webshop, preferrably a direct link to your Knoppix
  order form,

- Your webshop logo. The picture may not exceed 260 pixels in width and
  64 pixels in height, and will be entered with a fixed size and a
  dropshadow on the vendors page for faster loading and consistent look
  (see http://www.knopper.net/knoppix-vendors/index-en.php).
  We will rebuild the logo on request, in case that you want to change
  it some time.

- The description of your shop or service for the javascript bubblehelp,
  as plain text:

   * a max 20 characters text for the table header containing the name
     of your shop, which will also be used as ALT-Tag in the logo,

   * a max. 300 characters text for the long description of your shop.

- As an option: Notification of special event editions or kits that can be
  resold.

- Your shipping area (country/state, worldwide/international)

We will replace the old vendors page with the new one on May 10 2004.
